Pavilion Finish

Pavilion, or Acid Etch as it’s also known, is a popular choice for outdoor entertainment areas, wet spaces, around pools, and driveways.

The process includes grinding down the concrete to a fully exposed smooth aggregate. An acid mix is poured over the floor repeatedly, dissolving the top of the concrete, exposing the aggregate(stone) out of the slab, creating a natural textured, non-slip surface. After which it can be sealed to desired finish.

This product can be achieved on new or existing concrete. If we are working with an existing slab, we are limited by what is in the slab as far as quality, aggregate distribution and colour go.  We recommend doing a test patch which involves grinding back approx. 3-4mm to see what is underneath. If you plan to do a new pour we recommend getting in-touch beforehand to discuss design options and quality of the concrete to achieve your desired finish.
